This restaurant at Epcot is out of this world

Make your reservation at Space 220 to enjoy one of Epcot's most unique dining experiences.

Whether you're tired of eating around the World Showcase or are simply looking for a new restaurant to try at Walt Disney World, then you'll want to consider this space-themed restaurant located right next to Guardians of the Galaxy. That's right, Space 220 is a restaurant in Epcot that transports guests into space for a pre-fixe meal they won't find anywhere else on the property.

Getting to Space 220

Once inside, you'll be taken inside of a launch which will take you up to the restaurant. It has views of space and you may even see some celestial figures floating around, too. Space 220 is open for both lunch and dinner and there's a bar area where you can sit too if that's more your speed.

I made a reservation for Space 220's three-course dinner menu where you get an appetizer (lift-off), entree (star course), and dessert (super nova sweet) for $79. It's a bit pricey but for the portion, quality of food, and atmosphere, you won't find anything like it at Disney.

What to eat

For my appetizer, I ordered the Blue Moon Cauliflower which was just the right amount of crispy and not too spicy. For my entree, I had the pad thai which was absolutely delicious. When I tell you that the portion of this lasted me for days, I mean it. I had leftovers for about three days after this so you're definitely getting your money's worth. There are also some enhancements you can add to your order if that's of interest such as brussel sprouts or truffle fries. I tried both and they were a tasty addition to the meal.

Lastly, the dessert menu recently underwent an overhaul and you must try the lunar carrot cake. Not only is it moist, but it pairs well with the cream cheese frosting.

The specialty drinks aren't included in the pre-fixe menu. However, I'd say it's worth ordering one. I don't drink so I went with a speciality non-alcoholic beverage called 'Moon Rocks.' It tasted like cotton candy and came with Pop Rocks that caused a fun explosion in my mouth.

Reservations are a must

At the end of the day, I'd suggest making a reservation at Space 220 for a special occasion or if you want a unique dining experience for your family while on vacation. Be sure to ask about the limited-edition trading cards too as they can be part of your souvenir.
