6 Spooky Eats at Hersheypark for Halloween
By Jenna Clark
Although the five themed haunted houses and chilling coasters are likely what comes to mind when thinking about Hersheypark Halloween and Hersheypark Dark Nights, it’s worth trick-or-treating yourself to some of the deliciously-gourd food and beverage offerings across the theme park as well as the property’s Hershey’s Chocolate World and The Chocolatier Restaurant, Bar + Patio.
If you think you’re going to be spending most of your time in the park, you can purchase a Hersheypark Halloween Tasting Pass for $36.95 before your arrival online or at one of the park’s Guest Service areas. This pass will provide you with the opportunity to taste up to five of the event’s thematic food items without having to repeatedly take out your wallet and might even save you a couple of dollars.
Kit Kat Witch’s Brew Milkshake
You can’t leave Hersheypark without trying one of their specialty-themed milkshakes, especially this seasonal Kit Kat Witch’s Brew Milkshake which you can find adjacent to the park at the property’s chocolate hub, Hershey’s Chocolate World. When you order this milkshake, you’ll receive a decorated cup filled generously with a marshmallow-infused ice cream base on top of which sits green “slime” and a mound of whipped cream garnished with some Halloween-colored sprinkles and a piece of the seasonal Kit Kat Witch’s Brew bar.
Red Velvet Cookies & Scream Brownie
If you’re like me, you know how difficult it is to pass up a brownie, especially when it’s a red velvet one like this treat from the Afterlife Delights booth. As if the red velvet flavor wasn’t enough, this dessert is topped with chocolate sandwich cookie pieces and a skull-shaped candy. Plus, it's a Hersheypark Halloween Tasting Pass-eligible option.
Black Cherry Lemonade
For an interactive drink that is packed with flavor, opt for this Black Cherry Lemonade Mocktail from Berks Dogs of Doom. Although this cup of lemonade (which is a Hersheypark Halloween Tasting Pass option), might look underwhelming at first glance, that all changes when you inject it with its fully loaded black cherry syrup syringe. Don’t forget to press record on your phone before pressing down on the top of the dispenser as this drink makes for an Instagrammable moment.
Cherry Cheesecake Jar
This cherry-pie-filled dessert is more than what meets the eye (literally). When you order this decadent dessert from Afterlife Delights, you’ll receive a jar filled with a chocolate sandwich cookie base and cheesecake mousse. Although you can throw away your new serving dish, we’d recommend cleaning out and keeping your new mason jar as a souvenir.
All Eyes on Meat
All eyes will be on you when you order this pasta dish from Hersheypark’s Hollow Pizza. New for this year’s spooky Dark Nights event, this dish contains black-colored pasta topped with meatballs that are equal parts zesty and sweet. Just make sure to validate your Hersheypark Halloween Tasting Pass before heading over to grab one (or more) bowls of these chillingly delicious noodles–you can thank us later.
Blood Bank Mocktails
If you’re looking for a Halloween buzz without the alcohol, the Blood Bank Mocktails from the patio at The Chocolatier Restaurant, Bar + Patio can’t be missed. Available in blue (“Type A”), green (“Type B”), and red (“Type O”), these non-alcoholic beverages are served in containers resembling IV bags. Remember, these can only be purchased on the patio (which is decorated for Halloween), so make sure to request an outside table if they are something you’re dying to try.
