Plans for this year’s highly anticipated Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios are swiftly coming together. And you know who they’re gonna call: Ghostbusters, as the latest flick in the franchise, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, is getting its own haunted house at both Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood.

Unlike other houses the event has debuted in the past, this won’t be a franchise-wide one – it’ll focus only on the events of the movie, which hit theaters back in March. In it, the new generation of Ghostbusters team up with the old generation to take down Garraka, an evil spirit who might plunge New York City – and the world – into a new ice age. And not the fun ice age from those movies starring Scrat, either.

Per a press release provided to TripSided by Universal, guests will travel through Ray’s Occult Books shop, aka the store owned by Dan Akroyd’s character, the new high-tech lab at the Ghostbusters containment facility, in the classic firehouse location from the films, and even head in to the New York City sewer system, something I don’t think the city workers will even do in real New York. Along the way, you’ll journey with the Ghostbusters, as well as encountering terrifying ghosts from the film, and horrible icy creatures as well.

The Ghostbusters house marks the second IP based house announced for this year’s event. The other one? A Quiet Place, which will conversely adapted the first two movies in that franchise, versus Day One, which is hitting theaters this week. This is in addition to original property houses like “Monstruos 2: The Nightmare of Latin America” and “Dead Exposure: Death Valley.” In addition, both Universal locations will have the requisite array of scare zones, okay spooky things happening in the streets of the park, shows, and more. Universal also promises there’s more to be announced, so stay tuned.

Halloween Horror Nights will open in Orlando on Friday, August 30, and Thursday, September 5 in Hollywood.
