Although Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in O'ahu is known for its beautiful Hawaii beach views and entertainment offerings featuring some rare Disney characters that cannot be found anywhere else in the United States, the eats at this five-star resort should not be overlooked. Although I ate plenty around the property during my four-day stay, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite bites I’d recommend trying during your next visit.

Mickey Mouse-Shaped Shave Ice

If you’ve ever considered a visit to Aulani, you’ve likely come across a photo of a Mickey Mouse-shaped shave ice while conducting your research. You can find these sweet treats at Pāpālua Shave Ice. Although you can simply order the ice (if you want), I’d recommend taking advantage of the fruity-flavored syrup offerings they have available including mango, pineapple, and coconut to name a few. Make sure to take any photos you want of your magical concoction ASAP as the sun’s rays won’t steer clear for too long.

Minnie Mouse Dole Whip

Head over to Little ‘Opihi's - Beachside Kiosk for some Dole Whip with a Disney twist. What makes the Dole Whip offerings different at this location versus others is that you can order a sundae topped with a chocolate piece of a Disney character. Character options include Minnie Mouse and Stitch to name a few.

Red Velvet Minnie Mouse Waffles

If you plan on dining at the character breakfast experience at Makahiki, you shouldn’t skip the red velvet Minnie Mouse waffles.

If you’re looking for a quick breakfast option, an Acai Bowl from Ulu Cafe is a great option. Whether you choose the Traditional or Tropical bowl, you’ll be delighted with a blend of bananas, granola, fruit, and other sweet ingredients.

A trip to Aulani wouldn’t be complete without a Poke Bowl from Ulu Cafe. Although the base classic and spicy tuna options are non-vegetarian, there is a tofu option available as well. Although this bowl is accompanied by a higher price tag of $22, one can taste that it is made with high-quality ingredients.

Olu Mel Cupcake

As mentioned above, Aulani is the only place in the United States where guests can meet the character 'Olu Mel. To pay tribute to this beloved character, Cafe Ulu offers a huge green cupcake for purchase all day (while the cafe is open) and while supplies last. With that in mind, this macadamia nut cupcake is $16, but offers a large portion and can easily be shared by two to four people.
