Universal Studios Hollywood is in the midst of celebrating the first anniversary of their Super Nintendo World area of the park. And now you can level up your trip on the first-ever Super Nintendo World-themed airbus from Spirit Airlines.

While the plane is (sadly) not wearing a Tanooki suit, it does feature a swaggy Mario thrilled to welcome you on board. The first flight on the Airbus A320neo featuring the Super Nintendo World wrap left yesterday (February 21) from Detroit to Fort Lauderdale. Savvy readers will note that Universal Studios Hollywood is not located in either city, but that’s okay: the airplane will be flying to destinations all over the United States through May, 2024. Of note, you can’t specifically request a flight on the themed aircraft; it’s based on the plane’s flying schedule. Basically, keep jumping in pipes until one takes you to a warp zone.

The better news is that concurrent with the launch of Air Mario (not the plane’s actual name) is the Next-Level Flyaway Sweepstakes. Spirit is offering a chance to win a three-day, two-night trip for four to Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood from February 21, through March 20, 2024.

The sweepstakes winners will receive:

  • Round trip coach (economy) flights with Spirit Airlines from the winner’s origin airport to LAX
  • 2-Night standard hotel accommodation at the Sheraton Universal Hotel
  • 2-Day General Admission tickets to Universal Studios Hollywood

There’s no purchase required for entry, and in fact all you need to do is enter your email and departure city. That’s easier than stomping on a goomba!

So good luck on the contest – and catching a flight on the Super Nintendo World plane.
