Travel & Leisure lists the top islands in Florida

This list features several locations that anyone familiar with Florida would expect, but also some options that may be off the beaten path. According to the piece, these islands are selected for those looking for a more laid-back feel. Meaning if you are heading to Florida to party hard for say, Spring Break, these places may not be the best for that goal. However, some of these locations would be great during a long trip to break up the nights of rampant partying.

Key West topped the list as it is a popular stop for major cruise lines. It’s a sleepy town in the state but still has beautiful beaches and excellent restaurants worth your visit. You can make this the featured destination during your vacation or make it a quick stop if you’re on a cruise to another island or country. Palm Beach came in at number two. This is an island that features beautiful beaches, arts, shopping, and much more. If you enjoy going to places that bask in opulence, then Palm Beach should be near the top of your list in general. This island is widely considered to be one of the wealthiest places in the entire United States, and the area easily exudes that appeal.
