Imagine waking up to the sounds of a lion roaring or an elephant trumpeting….but you’re not on an African safari. Instead, you’re in a tent in Jackson Township, New Jersey. Last month, Six Flags Great Adventure unveiled the Savannah Sunset Resort and Spa.

The Six Flags company of amusement parks recently merged with Cedar Fair and the company now operates 42 amusement and water parks. Located in Jackson, New Jersey, Six Flags theme park Great Adventure is neighbored by waterpark Hurricane Harbor New Jersey, and Wild Safari Adventure.

There is so much to see and do that it’s impossible to experience all the parks have to offer in a single day. The Savannah Sunset Resort and Spa is a welcome addition to the parks, enabling guests to spend the night and enjoy a bit of luxury while spreading their visit over a couple of days.

The Savannah Sunset Resort is located in the Wild Safari Adventure Park. This park encompasses 350 acres where over 1200 animals roam the property. Visitors can stay in one of the twenty glamping suites that can accommodate both couples and families. The family suite can hold up to six guests. Every suite has both heating and air conditioning as well as a private bathroom.

There is an onsite spa with two treatment rooms and a jacuzzi. The current spa menu includes three different types of massages. Guests who book a spa treatment receive a complimentary day pass to enjoy the jacuzzi.

This new resort looks incredible. However, it comes at a premium price. Rates start at $700 a night and require a two-night minimum stay. Guests enjoy several perks including a single-day multi-park ticket per overnight stay, a $65 value at the time of this writing.

A made-to-order breakfast is also included in the price of the stay and can be served via room service or enjoyed at the resort restaurant. Sample menu items include brioche French toast, Eggs Benedict, and made-to-order omelets. There are also nightly s’mores, outdoor games, an exclusive safari tour, and a special giraffe feeding for overnight guests.
