If you take a visit to the happiest place during the holiday season, not only can you expect lots of holiday decor and entertainment offerings, but festive eats, too. Each year, Disneyland Resort hosts its annual Festival of Holidays. Although its primary foodie offerings are located at the various festival kiosks in Disney California Adventure Park, some can also be found at other locations throughout the park.
If you enjoy trying a variety of cuisines like I do and are looking for a way to save a couple of dollars while enjoying the bites of the festival, the Sip and Savor Pass can help you do so. After trying more than half of this year’s festival foodie offerings, these are the ones I’d add again to my repeat list for next year.
Sticky Toffee Pudding Macaron
If you’re a fan of Disneyland macarons (I know I am) or macarons in general, consider trying this sticky toffee pudding macaron from Favorite Things. Filled with vanilla buttercream, salted toffee sauce, and date cake, this $8.00 Mickey Mouse-shaped chocolate macaron is the perfect size for sharing. Although I enjoyed this sweet treat enough to get it twice during my visit, I think it’s important to note that the piquant combination of flavors may be overpowering for some.
Cookie Dough Yule Log
The cookie dough yule log from Grandma’s Recipes was my favorite festival dessert I tried. Filled with a combination of chocolate chip cookie dough and white chocolate mousse, this dessert was unlike any other dessert I’ve had before, especially at a Disneyland festival. It’s also topped with festival holiday sprinkles and a Mickey Mouse-shaped chocolate piece perfect for picture-taking.
The Holiday Duet
As its name suggests, this savory snack consists of two macaroni and cheese flavors: the chorizo queso fundido and the savory kugel mac & cheese. The chorizo queso fundido side is darker and color and spicier, whereas the kugel macaroni & cheese offers a lighter-colored cheese sauce with a creamier taste profile. I thought the two meshed well together and that for $9.25, this was one of the better-value festival offerings.
Holiday Mash Bowl
For a combination of holiday comfort foods, the holiday mash bowl from Merry Mashups is a solid pick. When you order this bowl, you’ll receive a concoction made with chicken, cheddar mashed potatoes, and turkey gravy along with some cranberry stuffing crunch. Despite its familiar flavor profile, this is one of the smaller snacks I tried which you may want to consider especially if utilizing the Sip and Savor Pass.
