Walt Disney World in Florida is home to six different parks, four of which are theme parks with the remaining two being water parks. And unless you're a hardcore Disney park fan, you might not have been aware that the last time all six parks were open at once was before the pandemic. Since then, at least one of the six has been closed, usually one of the water parks. But summer 2025 is shaping up to be a lot of fun for fans of the Magic Kingdom.
For the first time since 2019, all six parks will be open throughout the summer. Knock on wood, of course. Typhoon Lagoon water park will open for the summer season starting May 1 while Blizzard Beach water park will close that same day for refurbishment. It is scheduled to re-open on May 21 and remain open through September 7. Again, these two water parks have not been open at the same time since 2019, so this is kind of a big deal for Disney fans.

In addition to the water parks, all four theme parks are expected to be up and running at full capacity. That includes Disney's Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and EPCOT. If you're planning on stopping by Orlando this summer, Walt Disney World is definitely giving you more than a few destinations to choose from.
Opened in 1971, Walt Disney World is a massive resort and entertainment complex sitting on approximately 25,000 acres of land. It is worth noting that only half of that is actually developed at this point, meaning that further expansion is incredibly likely. This sets Disney World apart from the original park in California, Disneyland, which his highly restricted on expansion plans due to being completely surrounded by the city of Anaheim.
