Memorial weekend weather brings rain to much of the south and east

This weekend we should all be out enjoying Memorial Weekend but rain is in the forecast for many which could put a damper on your travel plans.
While the western United States looks to remain dry and in the 80s in California to mid-60s in Washington State, almost all of Texas is under severe weather on Friday with a swathe of that storm moving all the way up to Washington, D.C.
Here is a look at your travel forecast for Memorial Day weekend.
Friday: Rain and severe thunderstorms are expected from west Texas through northern Arkansas, Louisianna, Alabama, into Tennessee, West Virginia, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Rain will also be found from Green Bay to Maine with some rain heavy.
Most of the west coast and mid-west will see clear skies making a trip to the Grand Canyon or Yellowstone a nice weekend getaway.
The coastal Carolinas will remain dry on Friday as will much of Georgia and Florida.

Saturday: Temperatures along the eastern states and mid-Atlantic states will see a dip in temperatures after storms begin to clear the area. Temperatures are expected to dip to around the mid-50s in Pennsylvania, New York, and the New England States.
Rain will continue in parts of eastern Texas but the heavy rain and thunderstorms look to remain on the western side of the state.
Rain will, however, reach the coastal Atlantic from South Carolina through the eastern coasts north to parts of Maine.
Sunday: Rain will settle in over the mid-west from the Texas panhandle north into Oklahoma, Missouri, and Nebraska as well as most of Colorado. Temperatures along the east coast will rise a bit but the New England states could remain in the mid-50s to 60s.
In Florida, remain is expected from Alligator Alley to Dayton Beach with highs in the mid to upper 80s.

Monday (Memorial Day): The east coast will return to more normal temperatures but from southern Texas to Nebraska, temperatures will be lower than normal. On the west coast, higher than normal temperatures are expected.
Rain could linger through the mid-west but for most of the eastern states and western states, it should remain mostly dry.
