Planning your next vacation post-pandemic? Well, a lot of Americans are doing that right now, and let’s just say that some wanna go big. Some people want to make their first traveling experience post-pandemic a big ta-da; they wanna go outside of the US and make it really special.

Let’s talk Europe.

If you’ve never been to Europe before, or overseas in general, you may not be aware of the differences of things to pack, as opposed to a domestic vacation, whether it be electronics-related items, clothing, suitcases, etc.

Let’s take a look at the top ten packing essentials for your next trip to Europe!

1. Power Adapter

First and foremost, coming from the US and going to Europe, our power plugs are completely different. If you want any chance at all to charge your phones, camera batteries, and things like that, then you’ll need one of these (or at least need to buy one when you’re there if you can find one). This may be something that people tend to overlook, but trust me, it was at the top of my list when I went.

You can buy these at many different places, so keep your eye out whenever you’re looking!

2. Neck Wallet

Sure, this one may seem like the top touristy thing to do: carrying around your belongings around your neck; however, you never want to put yourself in a vulnerable position. Once you’re out of America, you’re at the discretion of whichever country you’re in, which can be scary at times. Always have your personal belongings as close to you as possible.

You can buy these at any sort of travel and luggage place, or some other place that sells luggage tags!

3. Portable Charger

This one is just as important as the actual power adapter itself. In fact, you can’t have a portable charger without the power adapter because portable chargers still need to be charged themselves too. I’m sure we’ve all been in this situation: we’re walking around a new city, taking beautiful pictures and showing people, or looking up places to go next; then we look down at our phones, and we get the 20% battery notification. Portable chargers have saved the day for me before on multiple occasions, vacations included.

You can buy these on Amazon, or even at cell phone carrier stores! Anywhere you think!

4. Comfy Shoes

Out of all of the items on this list, this is probably the second if not the most important thing to pack. When you go on a European adventure, the last thing you’ll wanna do is be stuck in your hotel all day. Walking around different cities is so much fun, so bring your comfiest pair of shoes, and go enjoy yourselves!

You can definitely buy these at any shoe store, but be sure to do your research first to find the perfect, most reliable pair for you!

5. Packing Cubes

There are so many different varieties of packing cubes, or just suitcase organizers in general. When I went to Europe, I was introduced to these, and let me tell you, I’ve used them on every suitcase-required vacation ever since. These are easy, portable, fit universally in just about any and every different type of suitcase, as well as make things easier to find in a pinch.

You can buy these at The Contained Store (my favorite place), but Amazon has a ton of options!
