In this modern era dominated by technology that advances at lightning fast pace, it can be hard for some people to keep up. But if you're one of the people who doesn't have any issues with that, then you are probably thriving. You might even be one of the growing numbers of digital nomads, people who work remotely while traveling. It's a lifestyle that works well for anyone with an online job that doesn't require them to be in a specific place to do it. It's not so good for doctors or coal miners.
An increasing number of countries offer digital visas which are aimed at attracting digital nomads. it works well since they are essentially long-term tourists who are paid by someone else to hang out there and spend money. Now, you can count Taiwan among the ranks of those countries who want digital nomads to call them home for a few months.
The new digital visa would allow these nomads to work in Taiwan for up to six months. To put that into perspective, U.S. citizens can currently visit Taiwan on a short-term visa for a maximum of 90 days. There are a few rules related to age and income, of course. And you have to be from a visa-exempt country. The big one is that you have to have already received a digital nomad visa from another country that offers them. There are more than a few out there, so it is doable.
