Travel the British rails in style thanks to Belmond
There's something romantic about traveling around the United Kingdom and Europe by train. Maybe that's just people from parts of the world where train travel isn't part of their daily lives who feel that way. Still, there's just something intriguing about riding a train to take in the sights of another country. Or several countries, if you're riding a train across Europe. They go by pretty quickly.
In July 2025, Belmond is introducing the Britannic Explorer, a super high end sleeper train. It will offer three different three night routes in England and Wales which can be combined into longer trips. Each train will feature 18 total cabins, three of which will be grand suites. And as luxurious as you think this service is going to be, you'll probably need to increase your imagination by at least 50%.
In addition to your beyond comfortable accommodations, each route will offer a variety of spa services for guests to take advantage of. Dining will be at another level thanks to a menu designed by chef Simon Rogan who is best known for the three Michelin-starred restaurant, L’Enclume. Naturally, there will be a drink selection to match that will likely feature words such as "artisanal" on the menu. If that isn't enough, there will also be options for excursions at various stops.
If you're thinking this sounds pricey, you would be right. Based on a double cabin, tickets start at £11,000 or a shade under $14,000 USD. But luxury at this level does not come cheap. For people looking for a unique travel experience that lets them see England from a different angle, this could be the trip for you. If it is, you had best start saving your pennies now because you're going to need a few of them. This trip will cost you a bit.
