If you travel or like to read about traveling, you're likely familiar with the Time Out brand. This British media company has long been a leader in travel writing, both in print and online. Part of the reason it is such a trusted name in the field is local writers in specific cities giving recommendations and advice on their home turf. Now, those writers have banded together to provide a list of the most beautiful places on Earth.

It's important to keep in mind that this is not a complete or comprehensive list by any stretch of the imagination. Beauty is incredibly subjective, so this list is more reflective of the Time Out writers who contributed to it. What is interesting about the list is the fact that each person has been to the place they are describing. At the same time, not everyone who has contributed to the list has been to every place on it. That's the long way of saying this list shouldn't be perceived as a definitive ranking.

The first entry on the list is Komodo National Park in Indonesia. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is stunning and the only place to see Komodo Dragons in the wild. Other entries include Choquequirao in Peru, the Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, and Zhangye National Geopark in China. Pretty much every corner of the world is covered.

Yet, there are likely dozens and dozens of incredibly beautiful spots that aren't on it. That's why Time Out continuously updates the list, adding new locations based on the recommendations of their writers. Their list of the most beautiful places on the planet is an ongoing exercise that will continue to grow. While it may not be a definitive ranking, which isn't really necessary, this list is at least a great place to start pulling ideas from to fill your travel bucket list.
