There is a brand new feature in Uber that might be a big benefit to travelers who are making plans to the many major cities and destinations across the world. The update made in the Uber app is globally available and will give access to fare and wait time details for more than 10,000 cities worldwide.

This new feature could be a game changer in the travel industry when it comes to planning and making a trip to a city within a few days, give or take a few days here and there. Officially, Uber rolled out the feature on July 16.

With travel on the rise, and the world squarely focused on Paris with the upcoming 2024 Summer Olympic Games scheduled to kick off on July 26, the company used the feature rollout with the Olympic Games in mind to announce it. As Uber so eloquently points out, the feature is designed to 'take the guesswork out of your travel so you can spend less time stressing and more time exploring the world".

In order to use the feature, use any major city as your pick-up destination and it will unveil many major and popular spots in the city you selected will then appear. While it certainly is not perfect, you do get to see what you can expect in terms of pricing, wait times, and potential routes you will take along the way.

As many are aware, you are able to schedule rides from just minutes to several days in advance. Using the Uber app with this feature, could be one of the most essential apps and travel companions that a budget traveler will have as his or her essential needs. apps like Google Maps, TripAdvisor, and various airline apps have certainly come a long way towards improving the experience of travel globally.

One of the key things in Google Maps is the ability for users to search the public transportation routes such as buses to and from one location to the next. Schedules via Google Maps when it comes to the public transportation side is a hit or miss. Among the things not available on Google Maps is the pricing structure of the various public transit systems. For that information, a visitor often has to visit the transit company itself. Uber has gone beyond that and created an atmosphere that will transform how we travel.
