Trunk Bay in St. John U.S. Virgin Islands named the best beach in the world

Everyone loves a day at the beach. The waves, the water, bathing in the sun. There’s so much to love. But what if you’re a true beach connoisseur and want to visit the best beach in the world? Then you should take a trip to Trunk Bay in St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands which has been named the number-one ranked beach on The World’s 50 Best Beaches 2024 list.

Presented by Banana Boat, the beach product company puts together a list that features its selection of best beaches from around the world. The judges make their picks based on the islands and cities they have visited. Several countries are represented, with many recognizable places and some that are far off the radar.

Trunk Bay and the many beaches across the U.S. Virgin Islands hold a special place in the hearts of those who call our beautiful islands home as well as our returning visitors,” said Commissioner of the USVI Department of Tourism, Joseph Boschulte. “We have long regarded our beaches as some of the best in the world, and this recognition helps us share that with the world.”

The U.S. Virgin Islands is well-known for its beautiful beaches. The Banana Boat listing calls Trunk Bay the “quintessential Caribbean paradise” thanks to its “soft sand and the crystal-clear, pool-like waters.” Trunk Bay is a location that not only attracts beachgoers, but lovers of the water as well since it features an underwater snorkeling trail along its coral reef.

The top ten of the list include the following locations: Cala Mariolu in Italy, Meads Bay in Anguilla, Entalula Beach in Philippines, Voutoumi Beach in Greece, Turquoise Bay in Australia, Pink Beach in Indonesia, Anse Georgette in Seychelles, Green Lagoon in French Polynesia and Horse Shoe Island in Myanmar. The United States was also represented by Lanikai Beach and Kapalua Bay Beach in Hawaii, and Henderson Beach in Florida.
