Tiana's Bayou Adventure Opening June 28, 2024

Just as Tiana sings in The Princess and the Frog, "I’m almost there!" ... that’s because the opening date of Tiana's Bayou Adventure has finally been announced. The ride will open at Walt Disney World on June 28, 2024. 

Ryan Seacrest broke the news during a special Disney episode of American Idol on May 12. In the segment, film and Broadway legend Jenifer Lewis took the stage to sing her song 'Dig a Little Deeper' from the film, and after she concluded, Seacrest joined her on stage. "Some exciting news for all of you," he said, "the new attraction Tiana's Bayou Adventure will be opening at Walt Disney World in Florida June 28. " 

The attraction is replacing the former Splash Mountain ride, transforming the old briar patch into a stunning journey through New Orleans and the surrounding bayous that Louisiana is so famous for. Tiana's Bayou Adventure is also going to have some of the most advanced animatronics Disney has ever produced, both looking, moving, and sounding just like the characters from the movie. 

Speaking of characters from the movie, the entire main cast returned to reprise their roles, including Anika Noni Rose and Jenifer Lewis, making Tiana's Bayou Adventure a fitting continuation of The Princess and the Frog’s legacy.

The ride will be filled with music and dancing, bringing the jovial spirit of the Crescent City to life. And thrill-seekers, don't worry...Tiana's Bayou Adventure will still have the iconic 50-foot drop that Splash Mountain was famous for. 

Tiana's Bayou Adventure is opening in Walt Disney World on June 28, and Disneyland's version of the ride will be arriving later in 2024!
