Ryanair, which is Europe's go-to for extremely cheap flights across the continent and beyond is adding a scheduled stop to and from the majestic city of Rovaniemi, Finland via Paris Beauvais starting this November. The budget airline will operate this flight every Monday and Friday from November 1, 2024, through March 28, 2025.

Paris Beauvais Airport becomes Ryanair's sixth airport that will offer flights to the Finnish Lapland with Brussels Charleroi, Dublin, Liverpool, London Stansted and Milan Bergamo being the other major cities holding that distinction. Other airlines such as EasyJet and Lufthansa offer flights to and from Rovaniemi via Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Bristol, Brussels, Copenhagen, Dublin, Dusseldorf, Edinburgh, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Istanbul, Manchester, Milan, Munich, Naples, Reykjavik, Tromso, Vienna and Zurich.

For those who want to experience the majesty of Rovaniemi to see the Northern Lights, this opportunity is available year-round with connections via Helsinki and Oslo to name a couple of notable cities. However, the added experience of the winter theme of Santa's Village on the actual footprint of the Arctic Circle line could be too much for many to pass up. Don't forget there is the option of staying in the famous Ice Hotel and the various glass igloos in the area for prime viewing.

There is a more comprehensive list of airlines and flight windows from the various outlier cities available on the Visit Rovaniemi website. Only three airlines offer flights year-round to Rovaniemi and they are Finnair and Norwegian Airlines via Helsinki. Lufthansa does it through Munich but this flight operates to Oulu Airport located two and half hours away via bus, train, rental car, or taxi. Currently, there are no North American hubs that fly directly to Rovaniemi, so you will have to make a connection via one of the various European airlines.

During the summer there is always the opportunity to experience Santa Claus Village and the Midnight Sun at the same time as the Northern Lights shines. No matter what time of year you visit the city of Rovaniemi, the buzz and magical vibe will always be there to warm your heart. There is plenty to do there no matter when you go but the additional route from Ryanair to and from Paris Beauvais Airport gives you one more option to explore and plan your trip.
