Hamad International Airport is back on top of the World's Best Airport rankings
Skytrax conducted its annual vote to find the best airports in the world and a familiar location came out on top once again.
Opinions on airline travel vary wildly. Some think it’s a major hassle and fret over spending time in an airport. Others see it as a blissful step in a potential adventure. Either way, the masses have spoken when selecting the top airport in the world. The air transportation firm, Skytrax, conducted a massive survey of travelers from around the world to find out which airport would come out on top. With all the votes tabulated, Hamad International Airport picked up the number one position.
Hamad International Airport is in Doha, Qatar. Since it’s opening back in 2014, it was quickly praised as one of the top airports in the world. This is its third time winning the top position in this survey, doing so in back-to-back years of 2021 and 2022. Not only was it ranked the best overall airport, but voters also recognized it as the best airport in the world for shopping.
Hamad International Airport reclaimed the number one position after being upset by Singapore’s Changi Airport in 2023. That airport is also a repeat winner, taking the crown 12 times, including maintaining an iron grip on the vote from 2013 to 2020. It didn’t go home empty-handed, as this year it was recognized as the “World’s Best Airport Immigration Service” and the “Best Airport in Asia.”

As noted, the United States does not have any airports listed in the top ten. However, some locations were recognized in other ways. Dallas Fort Worth Airport earned the Best Airport Staff Service in North America. The Houston Airport System was recognized as the Best Regional Airport in North America.
