ESPN is jumping into the travel and tourism industry it is being powered by the fine folks that operate Adventures by Disney. ESPN Experiences, will be the titled name of the sports-based experience has unveiled that the first available sports experience will be entitled "Take Me Out To the Ballparks" and will be scheduled from August 29 to September 2, 2024.
The Take Me Out To the Ballparks experience is a five-day, four-night tour running at a cost starting at $6,999 per person, which seems to be aa fairly hefty price tag. That being said, given what is offered, it could make the average sports fan quite a bit jealous in a massive way. If you are a big baseball fan, this experience certainly has its own appeal.
According to the itinerary, the first day begins in Boston with a deluxe hotel check in at Kenmore Square, which is right next to the famed Fenway Park and participate in a meet and greet with Red Sox announcers Dave O'Brien and Mike Monaco before taking in the atmosphere of Fenway Park with a private tour, watch batting practice and the game itself atop the iconic Green Monster in left field.
After a night in Boston, there is a morning trip towards New York City with a pit stop at the ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut. While at ESPN's world headquarters, you will get a behind the scenes look at some ESPN shows in production and meet various on-air ESPN talent. In addition to the ESPN tour, there will be a lunch held along with former Major League player Doug Glanville.
From Bristol, the tour goes to the heart of the Manhattan Theatre District where you check into your New York City hotel just steps from Times Square and the flagship MLB Shop. The next day, the morning will be filled with a private tour of Yankee Stadium with a stop inside Monument Park, the Great Hall and get a history lesson of the Yankees franchise. Before the Yankees take the field, you will get a visit with Yankees play by play voice Michael Kay.
The fourth day of the tour gets a visit to the Jackie Robinson Museum for private tour before the facility opens to the public. After arriving in Philadelphia, you will get the afternoon to explore the City of Brotherly Love. From there it is a meet and greet with the ESPN Sunday Night Baseball broadcast crew before the weekly marquee baseball game.
All group meals, hotel accommodations and transportation during the tour is included along with trained guides known as "ESPN Experience Coaches" to help you enjoy every moment of the epic baseball journey.
The expectation of ESPN Experiences should be held to a high standard and it is very likely we will see a few more of these multi-day tours expand into the world of the NFL, NBA, NHL and college sports before too long focusing on an ESPN themed sports vacation.
