Disney currently has a fleet of five cruise ships on its roster and that list is about to grow to a total of nine by 2029, The current ships in Disney's fleet are the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Wish. The Disney Wish is the latest ship in its current fleet to have set sail out in the open waters and was the first in a decade to make its debut. At least three of the four ships have an assigned port and name attached to them.

The ship making its debut in 2029, is yet to be given a name but will have a 4,000 passenger, 1,250 stateroom capacity. Modeled after the Disney Wish, the new ship will set sail from Tokyo, Japan, and will be operated by Oriental Land, Oriental Land is also the same group that operates Tokyo Disneyland. This is in addition to the three new areas recently added to Tokyo Disneyland with the recreation of "Frozen", "Peter Pan' and "Tangled". The 2029 launch gives Disney a chance to market the Disney Cruise experience to the Japanese region.

"To set sail from Japan will make Disney vacations at sea more accessible to Japanese guests, who we know are some of our biggest fans," Thomas Mazloum, president of Disney Signature Experiences, told reporters in Japan at a press conference announcing the addition of the Disney's ninth cruise ship.

The expectation for Disney to include either Shanghai, China, Seoul, South Korea, or Taipei, Taiwan as an excursion stop is a high possibility. The possibility of a combination of two of those major cities is very likely. Of course, Taipei could be a stretch considering Disney's relationship with the Chinese government and having a park located in Hong Kong.

Disney has recently released a trailer for the Disney Adventure. The kicker of the Adventure Ship is that it is a ship that was bought by Disney from a Hong Kong-based company that was plagued with delays in the construction of the ship, which included the COVID-19 pandemic and the filing of bankruptcy of the three different companies.

Of the nine ships that will be in the Disney fleet in 2029, the Adventure will be the only one of its kind that is not directly constructed with Disney in mind.

The Disney Treasure, which is part of the Wish Class of ships, will launch on December 21 of this year with a theme of Peter Pan, Princess Jasmine, Aladdin, the Magic Carpet, and Captain Hook. The ship will see Port Canaveral in Florida as its home base and include a trip across the Eastern and Western Caribbean over a seven-night journey. It will also be the third of the ships in Disney's fleet to set sail and dock at Port Canaveral.

Up next on Disney's scheduled launch dates will be the Disney Adventure, slated for a target of possibly the Summer of 2025. The Disney Adventure will be based in Singapore with a passenger capacity of 6,000. The feature Disney characters expected to be part of the Adventure experience include Captain Mickey, Pluto, and Goofy. These cruise experiences are slated to be voyages of three and four nights across Southeast Asia.

In 2026, the Disney Destiny will join the fleet and be another Caribbean experience. Not much is known of Disney's plans for the Destiny as of now. We are still a couple years out to first launch and it is expected that more information will be released in the coming month. It is typical for Disney to have some details out at least a year in advance in order to market the ship.

What we do know is that the desired port for Disney Destiny is likely going to be Miami but Port Canaveral has not been ruled out. Rumors are circulating that Hero Minnie will be the main Disney character attached to the ship but like everything else, nothing has been set in stone.
