Travel demand is surging to levels never seen before. As records continue to break, businesses in the industry are forced to find ways to accommodate demand. That has led to Delta Airlines announcing an additional one-time flight from New York’s JFK Airport (JFK) to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG).

Europe is consistently one of the more popular travel destinations in the world, with Paris, France ranking among the top tourist destinations. This is especially true in 2024 as the next edition of the Summer Olympics is poised to start in late-July. Thanks to that boost in tourism, Delta has decided to add this flight to the upcoming ledger to give an additional opportunity for travelers to make the jump overseas.

The extra flight is scheduled for Sunday, August 11. It will be operated on a Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. The full details are available. DL266: Departs JFK at 8:10 AM and arrives at CDG at 9:35 PM. DL262: Departs JFK at 7:30 PM and arrives at CDG at 9:15 AM the next day. DL8770: Departs JFK at 8:30 PM and arrives at CDG at 10:10 AM the following day.

The addition of these flights comes at a time when the United States and the rest of the world continue to see a boom in travel. The Fourth of July weekend is expected to break records, mere weeks after the Spring Break and Memorial Day weekend did the same thing. In May, there were several reports from various travel agencies pointing toward metrics to predict that this season was going to push the industry above numbers experienced before the COVID-19 global pandemic.

The good news for travelers is that while travel is expected to increase, the cost to enjoy it hasn’t exploded as much as anticipated, especially as the excuse of “inflation” is thrown around by government officials and corporate leadership.

If you’re looking to travel to Paris, France at some point in 2024, Delta Airlines is offering an additional flight to help you get there.
