Better known around the world as Lufthansa, Deutsche Lufthansa AG is one of the biggest airline groups in the world. This German heavyweight is a top airline in Europe and beyond both in passengers carried per year as well as revenue. As such, any changes to Lufthansa's flights is more than a little notable for travelers from every part of the globe. Thankfully, they are adding flights to their roster and not taking any away, which could be a big positive for your summer travel plans.

This increase in operations will come into play during the high travel season in the summer of 2025. New and increased routes will go into effect in March 2025 to be ready for those key travel months. These changes will impact Lufthansa Airlines in addition to subsidiaries owned by the company such as Discover Airlines, Edelweiss, Austrian Airlines and Swiss International Airlines.

Not surprisingly, the majority of new and expanded routes will be in Europe. This will include popular destinations like Zurich, Frankfurt, Edinburgh, Vienna, and Montpellier, some of which are first time locations for the airlines servicing them. It's worth noting that these aren't the only major changes coming to Lufthansa's offerings. There are also new hubs coming to Seattle, Windhoek, Calgary, Orlando, and Halifax, another key expansion the service offered by Lufthansa.

For North Americans looking to plan a European vacation this summer, this announcement could be important, particularly due to their new hubs in Canada and the US. The Lufthansa group has more 12 thousand weekly connections to over three hundred destinations in more than one hundred countries. The chances of you traveling with Lufthansa if you're in Europe is incredibly high. That means any addition to their services should make getting your travel plans in place that much more simple and straightforward.
