Founded in 1885, Good Housekeeping has grown to become one of the most popular lifestyle brands in the world. That's due in part to their process of conducting product reviews with a staff of scientific experts as well as real world experience. That covers categories like food, home improvement, health, beauty, home decor, and even more than one might expect. And that does include travel, particularly from the perspective of families and from a variety of angles.

The magazine has released the winners of their 2025 Family Travel Awards. Naturally, categories include topics like beach destinations and city vacations but Good Housekeeping takes it further than that. They also rate activities to do on vacation as well as gear, services, and transportation options. The goal is to provide a family planning a trip with the magazine's top recommendations for putting it all together in the most manageable and enjoyable way possible.

Under Beach Destinations, several recommendations were made in different subcategories. Coastline Towns included spots in Florida, Rhode Island, Washington, and Mexico. Not surprisingly, Beach Resorts had options in Florida, Hawaii, Mexico, and the Carribean on the list. More surprising was the fact that Maine, Oregon, and Turkey were on that same list. There were also several entries under All-Inclusive Resorts, most of which were in Mexico.

The City Vacations section of the awards also provided some interesting vacation options. Their top recommendations for Cities for families to explore were Salt Lake City, Victoria (BC), San Antonio, and Orlando. Strangely, they listed the Canadian province of Quebec under the heading of Cities. Both Montreal and Quebec City do have a lot to offer, of course. Another odd thing worth noting is that none of the top City Hotels entries are in the top Cities, which does seem strange.
