From Taipei to Kyoto, Macau to Osaka, this hospitality powerhouse is weaving together timeless heritage with cutting-edge contemporary luxury, proving that a hotel is more than just a place to sleep—a sensational stay is an invitation to experience the soul of a destination.

Capella's latest venture is nothing short of ambitious: four stunning new properties across Asia, each a living testament to collaboration with world-renowned architects and designers. And the common thread? Each property is meticulously crafted to reflect and celebrate its cultural surroundings, blending design innovation with authentic local narratives.

“Every Capella property is inspired by the soul of its destination,” said Cristiano Rinaldi, President of Capella Hotel Group. And this philosophy is taking the hotel group to new heights, with a bold strategy to grow its portfolio from 8 to 12 properties by the end of 2025, and a vision to double its footprint by 2030. “Design is an emotional journey, not just an aesthetic choice.”

Capella Taipei: A Mansion of Modern Elegance

First up, Capella Taipei, set to open in Q1 2025, will offer a modern mansion experience designed by the talented André Fu. Situated along the sophisticated Dunhua North Road, the 86-room retreat will embrace the relaxed luxury aesthetic Fu is known for. Think floor-to-ceiling windows framing sweeping views of Taipei; a culinary experience rivaling the city’s finest dining spots; and a tri-level bar transformed into a piece of art as a cocktail destination. It will be the kind of place where sophistication meets emotion.

Capella at Galaxy Macau: A Celebration of Light and Legacy

In Q2 2025, Capella at Galaxy Macau will open its doors, offering a 93-room art-filled sanctuary redefining luxury in this vibrant city. Designed by Moinard Bétaille, this property will effortlessly blend tropical sophistication with Macau’s rich heritage, paying homage to the fusion of Portuguese and Chinese architecture this UNESCO World Heritage city is known for. Sky Villas and light-filled suites offer guests a fresh perspective on Macau’s storied past, while Capella’s signature cultural programming will take guests on a journey through the city’s traditions.

Patina Osaka: A Bold, Fluid Statement

Next, Patina Osaka will open in Q2 2025, and it is a game-changer. The striking collaboration between Jun Mitsui & Associates and Strickland, the design concept for Patina Osaka draws inspiration from water—an element integral to the city’s identity. With sweeping views of the iconic Osaka Castle and the tranquil Naniwanomiya-ato Park, the property will seamlessly blend the past and present. The hotel’s signature restaurant, P72, will celebrate Japan’s 72 micro-seasons. The Listening Room by OJAS will offer immersive experiences for guests.

Capella Kyoto: Timeless Japanese Elegance

And opening in Q4 2025, Capella Kyoto, promises to transport visitors to another world. Nestled in the historic Miyagawa-chō district, this 89-room property is the brainchild of Kengo Kuma & Associates and Brewin Design Office. With meticulous attention to Zen Buddhism, wabi-sabi aesthetics, and the classic architectural elements of tatami rooms and Zen gardens, Capella Kyoto is a balance of tradition and luxury. The design celebrates the spiritual tranquility of Kyoto while offering guests a contemporary sanctuary, where every space invites reflection.

The Future: More Than Just a Stay

Capella’s future plans go beyond adding properties and will focus on elevating the experience of luxury. Innovations like digital payment solutions (including cryptocurrency) at flagship locations like Capella Singapore and Patina Maldives shows the future is not only about exquisite design but also embracing the future of travel.

For the discerning traveler, these new properties will not only be a place to rest but a gateway to the world’s most captivating cultures.
