If you’re planning a trip to France in the near future, make sure to be careful with which of the roads you take. They might just disappear, and here’s why…

Connecting the Gulf of Burnёf with the island of Noirmoutier, Passage du Gois is not only unique but can also be extremely dangerous too. Twice every day, when the high tide rises, the 2.58-mile long road disappears 13 ft under the water.

People can use this road only two times a day for a few hours (special panels on both sides of the road show when it’s safe to use it). Though sometimes people still get caught between the tides, but luckily there are elevated rescue towers for people to climb and wait to be rescued in case they get pulled under the water.

This unique road is not traveled by many, but every once in a while visitors will come to this crazy road and feel the need to travel this strange phenomena. It rarely happens where someone will get stuck on this road due to the grave and dangerous nature that it presents, most people are careful about the times when they need to cross it.

But in the event that someone does get stuck, the country is more than prepared to save them with high hovering safe panels to climb where help can easily to come to you.

So before you want to travel this road, check your clock to see if you should bring your car or your boat.
