Halloween is here, or rather in Orlando as the local theme parks begin their annual celebrations with ghouls and ghosts and lots of candy.

Halloween “horror” nights and “not so scary” events are a top draw for major theme parks both in Orlando and around the world where those theme parks do business. They are tailored for both adults and children making these nights, “can’t miss events”.

Where else can you dress up and ‘Trick or Treat” at 50 years old? Here is a look at what each park is offering and when they begin.

Universal

Halloween Horror Nights have returned and events are running on select nights now through Halloween. The event is live at every Universal park in Orlando, California, and even in Japan. This year’s event in Singapore, however, has been canceled.

Universals Halloween themed parties lean more towards adults and older children.

Disney World and Disneyland

All Disney parks are now decorated for Halloween and characters are in costume! The Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween after park party is now the “After Hours Boo Bash” and is tailored for children of all ages and adults.

The events take place after the parks close and are a separate ticketed item. The events are live now and will run through Halloween.

SeaWorld Orlando/California/Texas

Seaworld has two separate events which in some ways, separates them from the other theme parks on this list and in a good way as well.

In Orlando, the Craft Beer Festival, now running through October 31st on weekends, crosses over with the Spooktacular Halloween event on weekends now through the 31st of October. Both events are included with your admission price. The “Trick or Treat” event is free for everyone as well.

This year will mark the first time in Orlando that the Howl-O-Scream event will take place. This separate ticketed event takes place after hours and is geared more towards adults and older kids. The event runs on select nights starting September 17th.

San Antonio: Spooktacular begins Sept. 16 and Howl-O-Scream begins Sept. 17th

San Diego: Spooktaculuar begins Sept. 18 and Howl-O-Scream begins Sept. 17th.
