Nickelodeon turns its roster of characters into a Mexican resort
When it comes to animation, Nickelodeon has been at the front of the pack for years thanks to huge characters like SpongeBob SquarePants. The footprint that this company has left on the world of entertainment is indelible, to say the least.
And now you can hit up a Mexican resort that gives you an intriguing Nickelodeon experience. It might not be a pineapple under the sea, but it looks like one hell of an experience for anyone who’s a fan of animation and enjoys resort life in Mexico.
Location is everything at Nickelodeon’s Mexican resort
Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya is located in Playa del Carmen. This puts it in an incredibly auspicious part of the country, just down the coast from Cancun and on the mainland across from the island of Cozumel.
As such, this puts you in a superb spot to enjoy all aspects of the region. This includes the magic of these marine life-rich ocean waters as well as nearby jungles overflowing with wildlife. And that doesn’t even begin to discuss all of the archaeological marvels in this part of the world.
The number of restaurants, shops, and more to explore in Playa del Carmen is fantastic. If that’s not enough, the trip up to Cancun is a relatively quick one. Just don’t forget to take a look at Cozumel or head south to Tulum.
What you’ll find at the resort
This resort only opened its doors quite recently, meaning everything is brand spanking new. There are a variety of suites to choose from, most of which are swim-up oceanfront. The few that aren’t listed that way are penthouses.
As one would expect, this resort has pools, spa experiences, and a variety of dining options. That includes their all-inclusive gourmet options. You can certainly go that route but don’t be afraid to leave the resort for a few meals while you’re there.
In addition to all of that is the new Aqua Nick experience, reputedly the first of its kind. It is a massive Nickelodeon-themed waterpark that features fun for pretty much everyone. If you’ve ever wanted to get slimed, this is your opportunity.
The Nickelodeon touch
All of the suites have varying levels of Nickelodeon theming. If you’re a SpongeBob fan, you might want to consider signing up for the Pineapple Suite or the Big Kahuna Suite. And if you fancy yourself a fan of sewer-dwelling martial arts reptiles, hit up the Lair Suite.
Naturally, there are character experiences from series like SpongeBob SquarePants, TMNT, Dora the Explorer, and many more. Nearby Nickelodeon Place has a variety of experiences with these characters as well as a few other options.
Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya isn’t going to be for everyone. But any fan with a family is going to love this spot. Plus, its location is unbeatable with so much to offer anyone who stays in the region.
