What’s on Netflix? The travel related content coming in September

Netflix US sees the return of some popular travel programs and easy-to-watch movies this September.

Netflix has boosted its travel content again with the latest batch joining already popular programs such as Down to Earth with Zac Efron, the award-winning The Dawn Wall, and frightfully fascinating Dark Tourist.

TripSided takes a look at the travel-related movies and programs being added this September.

The Worlds Most Amazing Vacation Rentals (Season 2)

Back for a second season, The Worlds Most Amazing Vacation Rentals had viewers bitten by the travel bug when it debuted during the pandemic.

Presented by Luis D. Ortiz (Million Dollar Listings New York), travel YouTuber Jo Franco, and DIY designer Megan Batoon, the show looks at the surprisingly affordable side of luxury travel.

Season one saw the trio check into a beautiful beachfront villa in Bali, a floating mansion in Miami, and a lizard-like living accommodation in Mexico City.

Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles (2001)

Paul Hogan returns for the third installment of the cult classic, reprising his role as the straight-talking Aussie Mick “Crocodile Dundee.” The movie was distributed by Paramount and took nearly $40 million at the box office.

The final movie in the Crocodile Dundee trilogy sees Mick make the move state-side after Crocodile hunting is made illegal in Australia and his wife Sue, played by Linda Kozlowski, lands a role at an LA newspaper.

Predictably, the film is fraught with cultural mishaps and misunderstandings as the family acclimatizes to their new life. There are also some shady dealings going on at a film studio and the untimely death of Sue’s predecessor, which sees Mick turn detective to try and uncover the truth.

Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father (Season 5)

British comedian Jack Whitehall and his father Michael, who worked as a producer and talent agent, travel around the UK in the final season of Travels with My Father.

Jack is a regular on the British comedy circuit and has two Netflix specials, “I’m Only Joking” and “Jack Whitehall: At Large,” which mix self-depreciation and frat-type college humor. Michael represented Dame Judy Dence, Colin Farrel, and Richard E. Grant in his agency days.

The previous season saw the Whitehall’s camp it up at a drag show, turn their hand to a favorite Australian past-time, Cricket, and join a bike gang in Queensland.

Letters to Juliet (2010)

Amanda Seyfried (Mean Girls, Mamma Mia) plays Sophie, a fact-checker at the New Yorker who embarks on a pre-honeymoon trip to Verona, Italy, with her fiancè, Victor. The movie was released by Summit Entertainment and earned $80 million at the box office.

Sophie discovers many letters addressed to a “Juliet” and becomes fascinated with their contents. One such letter was written in 1957 by Claire Smith, Sophie contacts Claire who meets her in Verona with her grandson Charlie in tow.

Based on Juliet’s response to the letter, Sophie and Claire set about trying to find a long-lost love of Claire’s, taking in the sights and sounds of Verona. At the same time, Sophie and Charlie also get to know each other as Victor’s distant attitude leaves her alienated in Italy.

You vs. Wild: Out Cold with Bear Grylls (Season 2)

Bear Grylls returns with the second installment of his innovative interactive show, You vs. Wild. This time, Bear mixes real-world survival techniques with a fictitious helicopter crash which causes him to have “amnesia.”

The show aims to help Bear track down the lost pilot trapped in a mangled helicopter wreckage perched perilously close to a cliff edge.

You’re given multiple decisions to select via smart TVs, Roku, games consoles, Android, iOS Mac, and PC browser.

For example, Bear asks the audience what he needs to focus on when he realizes that he’s stuck in the wilderness “food, water, or shelter” with a limited time to decide, the viewer chooses for him, and we see the consequences of those choices, positive and negative.
