While Halloween might still be weeks away, fall is quickly inching closer and closer and its arrival will soon see the streets of Disneyland undergo a spooky transformation with the park’s annual Halloween celebration!

Much like Disney’s annual Christmas-themed celebration and park makeover, every fall Disneyland transforms its park grounds with an array of elaborate holiday-themed displays, costumed characters, special events, and tasty holiday-inspired treats which never fail to help guests enjoy a magical Halloween experience.

Although Halloween might only happen once a year, Disney brings the magic of the season to life across several weeks in the fall making it one of the most celebrated holiday events of the season. Each year, Disney tends to get a jump on the fall festivities kicking off the fun before October even begins and it seems that’s the plan again this year with the Halloween festivities just around the corner.

When does Disneyland decorate for Halloween?  (2021)

As confirmed by Disney Parks, this year’s Halloween festivities at Disneyland will begin on Friday, Sept. 3 as Disney looks to kick off its annual holiday spooktacular which will unfold across the months of September and October.

Starting the first Friday of September, guests will be able to enjoy an array of holiday decor throughout the park including the iconic Main Street Pumpkin Festival where guests will find elaborately carved pumpkin displays as well as the iconic giant Mickey pumpkin which always makes for a perfect photo opportunity.

In addition to the holiday decor throughout the park, the start of the Halloween celebration on Sept. 3 will see the return of the Nightmare Before Christmas‘s annual takeover of the Haunted Mansion ride, Instagram-ready Halloween-theme treats, Halloween Screams fireworks, and among other usual staples.

When does the Oogie Boogie Bash begin at Disneyland this year? (2021)

Of course, no Halloween celebration at Disneyland would be complete without the annual Oogie Boogie Bash and this year is no different! The ultimate Halloween Party will return to Disney California Adventure Park on select nights beginning Sept. 9 through Oct. 31, 2021.

As in past years, the Oogie Boogie Bash will be a ticketed event that will unfold after-hours with a variety of activities for guests to enjoy including after-hours park access to treat trails, photo opportunities, entertainment, attractions, decor, and more!

Among the event’s many highlights is the Frightfully Fun Parade, a — you guessed it — holiday-inspired masquerade starring Mickey, Minnie and all of your favorite Disney Villains, because no Halloween celebration is complete at Disneyland without Disney’s iconic villains.
