If you are a reader of our site you will know that I have experienced quite a bit of SeaWorld in Orlando so naturally, I had to try Electric Ocean, SeaWorld’s nighttime fireworks show.

I have always been a fan of the fireworks that are set off by Disney World and their day-closing nighttime events so when I heard that SeaWorld was going to dip their toes into the water, I had to check it out.

Last week, my family and I decided to jump over to the parks later in the afternoon so we were not worn out before Electric Ocean began. We skipped it on our last trip because the little ones were too tired by the time 9:30 rolled around. The best seats for the show are clearly at the SeaWorld stadium and while I didn’t choose to sit there, I still got a pretty good show.

We sat by the SeaFire Grill which was great because we were able to get drinks throughout the event. The show takes place over the SeaWorld lagoon, at around 8:30 they close the wood bridge that connects the park at SeaFire and nearest the Orca tanks.

The music was well-timed and loud enough to hear without problems and it ebbed and flowed with the fireworks. There were not as many large fireworks that burst way up in the sky but this is a little more intimate so, in order to maintain views and safety, the fireworks don’t tend to skyrocket.

That worked out well for us. In addition, large pits dot the water and I wondered what they would bring to the show if anything. They blew large flames into the air and the heat off of them was incredible. We could feel it easily where we sat and it was pretty cool to experience.

The fireworks were nothing great but they were worth watching and my kids loved it. I’m not sure what was going on near the stadium, there is a partial view block but it appeared that there were displays of lights and fire that only those in the stands could see. It didn’t detract from the Electric Ocean display but there was clearly something else to be seen.

Overall, it was a fun experience and worth sticking around for. Surprisingly it didn’t come across as cheap like some of the other events the park holds, like the food and beer festivals.
