Mystic Dunes Resort: The good and bad review you need to read
By Brian Miller
I will say that the pool is quite nice and spacious. Mystic Dunes has one of the better pools that we have seen.
I’m really trying to break up the bad by inserting some of the good. The pool is one of the good. The water was a nice temperature and the waterfall was great for the kids to swim in and out of. There is a ledge on the other side of the fall that you can sit on which keeps you extra cool.
There are cabanas that you can rent. Each cabana comes with chairs and a television. They are limited and rent daily for $80.00. That seemed a little steep to me and the bartender couldn’t give me many details on what other amenities would be included. You need to book those through the front desk but good luck getting them to answer the phone.
There is a bar that serves food and drinks. The cocktails are a little pricey but that shouldn’t be surprising. I will say they make their drinks strong and don’t scrimp on the alcohol. The food prices seemed to be pretty reasonable with a basket of fries running about $5.00.
Overall, my kids had a good time, my 2-year-old was able to swim around without bumping into others. The pool can get a little crowded but not to the point that it makes it a bad experience. There is a waterslide around the back of the waterfall and my kids enjoyed it but it isn’t really fast and both of them had to push themselves out of the tube.
