Driving into Mystic Dunes resort was quite nice but walking into our room was so much nicer!

My wife complimented me almost immediately on my choice of booking. As I carried luggage in, I too was surprised by the amount of space that was provided. On this trip, we had two 17-year olds as my oldest son brought a friend. They took the 2nd bedroom with the two queen beds…yes, two queen beds and not two twins.

My two younger kids took claim to the fold-out couch and surprisingly, it was quite comfortable. My wife, myself, and our two-year-old took the king-size bed in the master room. A full-size kitchen, washer, and dryer, televisions in every room with cable, a large dining room table and so much room we didn’t find ourselves bumping into each other.

Through the drapes was a sliding door that opened onto a covered patio, we were on the first floor, covered balconies await those on the other floors.

There isn’t much “glam” to the interior but they are renovating the rooms. To be fair, we opted to take a non-renovated room so we could have a first-floor location close to the pool. I have stayed at other Diamond Resorts in renovated rooms and the differences are usually minimal and more aesthetic than anything else. This room could use some upgraded decor and will eventually.

If space is important then Mystic Dunes will deliver on your needs and should be considered but read on because it is about to change.
