Best Snacks to try at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in 2021
By Erin Walsh
Walt Disney World is home to some of the best food you’ll find while visiting Orlando, Fla. at Magic Kingdom has some great offerings!
From the world-class restaurants in Epcot to the quick-service dining locations at the resorts, you’ll want to make sure you don’t miss feasting on some of the best eats on your next trip to Disney World.
In this new series, we’ll be breaking down some of the best snacks you can find around Walt Disney World Resort, beginning with the iconic Magic Kingdom.
Beyond Cinderella Castle, you’ll find some of the best snacks in all of Disney World. From Dole Whip to churros, there is something for everybody.
So, let’s get started.
Waffle Sandwiches from Sleepy Hollow
If you love waffles, you won’t want to miss out on some of the best on Disney property at Sleepy Hollow, which is tucked into a cobble-stoned corner of Liberty Square.
Sleepy Hollow provides two different versions of a waffle sandwich. In the morning, until 11 a.m., you’ll find a delicious Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich with strawberries, bananas, blueberries, and Nutella. What could be better than that? It’s on the sweeter side, but it’s the perfect morning snack or even breakfast!
You can also purchase a Mickey-shaped Waffle with Strawberries and Powdered Sugar in the morning, or you can try a plain Mickey-shaped waffle. You can’t go wrong with either of these, but I definitely recommend trying the Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich first.
After 11 a.m., you’ll find a delicious Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken-Waffle Sandwich with broccoli slaw and honey-siracha glaze. This is my personal favorite. It’s the perfect combination of sweet and spicy. So if you don’t know what you’re in the mood for, this is the perfect snack.
In addition to the snacks I already mentioned, Sleepy Hollow also has turkey legs, corn dogs, funnel cakes, coffee, and more!
Dole Whip from Aloha Isle
Aloha Isle in Adventureland is a must for anyone looking for a refreshing sweet treat at Magic Kingdom.
Dole Whip is one of Disney World’s most iconic snacks, and it’s something you can’t miss. However, I feel the Pineapple Dole Whip is a little overpowering, so I recommend the Pineapple Dole Whip swirl with vanilla ice cream. The vanilla ice cream is the perfect combination for the pineapple.
Aloha Isle also serves up some other delicious Dole Whip options. The Pineapple Float with Dole Pineapple Juice is delicious, as is the Raspberry Swirl Float. You can also find limited-time offerings at Aloha Isle. For example, they have the Kakamora Float with coconut soft-serve on top of pineapple juice and blue curaçao syrup garnished with a chocolate kakamora cake pop right now.
Dole Whip can also be found at Pineapple Lanai at the Polynesian Resort, Tamu Tamu Refreshments in Animal Kingdom, and Marketplace Snacks at Disney Springs.
Tamu Tamu Refreshments serves a delicious alcoholic Dole Whip, and Marketplace Snacks currently has Watermelon Dole Whip throughout the summer.
Cheshire Cat Tail from Cheshire Cafe
The Cheshire Cat Tail from Cheshire Cafe in Fantasyland is perfect for those who love danishes. It is essentially a chocolate danish twist topped with colorful icing. Who wouldn’t love that?
However, the Cheshire Cat Tail has only been available at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe in Tommorland during the COVID-19 pandemic as the Cheshire Cafe remains closed. So if you’re in Tomorrowland, be sure to stop by and snag this delicious treat!
Giant Cinnamon Roll from Gaston’s Tavern
The giant Cinnamon Roll from Gaston’s Tavern in New Fantasyland is the perfect breakfast, lunch, or after-dinner snack. It is served warm and smothered in icing. Pro tip, you can get an extra side of icing if your heart desires!
The Cinnamon Roll pairs perfectly with LeFou’s Brew, which is frozen apple juice with a hint of toasted marshmallow and topped with passion fruit-mango foam.
Gaston’s Tavern also has several other delicious options, including the Grey Stuff Cupcake, which is another cant-miss item.
Spring Rolls from the Spring Roll Cart
The Spring Rolls from the Spring Roll Cart in Adventureland are a little expensive, I’m not going to lie, but they are outstanding.
The cart typically offers Pepperoni Pizza Spring Rolls and Cheeseburger Spring Rolls, but it is currently offering Buffalo Chicken Spring Rolls in addition to the Cheeseburger Spring Rolls.
The Cheeseburger Spring Rolls are served with a mayo-based sauce, and they are my absolute favorite. If you enjoy the Cheeseburger Pods in Animal Kingdom, the Cheeseburger Spring Rolls are 10 times better.
The Pepperoni Pizza Spring Rolls are served with marinara sauce, and the Buffalo Chicken Spring Rolls are served with ranch.
I highly recommend ordering one of each spring roll so you can determine which you like best, but make sure you get the correct sauce for each!
Corn Dog Nuggets from Casey’s Corner
The Corn Dog Nuggets from Casey’s Corner on Main Street is another can’t miss item at Magic Kingdom. The nuggets are basically just a smaller version of a corn dog and are fried to perfection.
Here’s another pro-tip, get the Corn Dog Nuggets with cheese sauce on the side. Thank me later.
Casey’s Corner is still closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Corn Dog Nuggets can be found at Westward Ho in Frontierland! Westward Ho also serves up delicious churros and Mickey Pretzels.
Mickey’s Kitchen Sink Sundae from Plaza Ice Cream Parlor
Just about everything from the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street is delicious. However, Mickey’s Kitchen Sink Sundae is where it’s at.
The sundae contains two flavors of ice cream, either hot fudge, peanut butter, or caramel, and is topped with whipped cream and two cherries. The sundae is definitely shareable, so grab extra spoons… and napkins!
When you’re finished, you’re allowed to take home the “kitchen sink” the ice cream is served in as a souvenir.
Loaded Buffalo Chicken Tots from Friar’s Nook
The Friar’s Nook in Fantasyland is one of the best places to grab a quick bite in Magic Kingdom. One of the most popular menu items is the Loaded Buffalo Chicken Tots, which are topped with Buffalo chicken (of course), chopped celery, bleu cheese crumbles, and garlic ranch dressing.
The Loaded Buffalo Chicken Tots are packed with flavor and aren’t overly spicy. However, people who love spicy food will probably be disappointed, I’m not going to lie.
Other items from the Friar’s Nook include Creamy Bacon Macaroni and Cheese Tots, Bratwurst and hot dogs topped with either bacon macaroni and cheese or buffalo chicken.
Other Can’t-Miss Magic Kingdom Snacks
For the sake of the length of this article, I’ll just finish up by mentioning a few other snacks that are equally delicious but pretty straightforward.
- Mickey Pretzel
- Mickey Ice Cream Bar
- Churro Ice Cream Sandwich
- Peter Pan Float
- Anything from the Main Street Confectionery
- Citrus Swirl
- Turkey leg (I don’t like these, but I know many who do!)
