5 Triple D spots in Columbus, Ohio you have to check out
In all of its travels around the United States, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives has managed to hit all four corners of the country and pretty much everywhere in between. And Triple D‘s stop in Columbus, Ohio certainly found some interesting places to eat.
Columbus might not the first stop on everyone’s vacation itinerary, but Triple D has done a good job of helping people see why they should rethink that. The food alone seems like a solid reason to give it a second look.
Loops — Triple D Season 27
In Season 27, Guy Fieri and his Triple D friends made a stop by Loops. Like a lot of joints these days, they run both a brick and mortar restaurant as well as a food truck. But however you find them, you will enjoy the food.
Loops is a place to experience big, delicious sandwiches and go home full. If you’re on a trip, just head back to the hotel for a nap. Make sure you give the Italian Beef on a hoagie a shot. Whether you get it dipped, dry or with au jus on the side, this one is Fieri approved.
Ray Ray’s Hog Pit — Triple D Season 27
When it comes to Ray Ray’s Hog Pit, you have choices. And that doesn’t just mean on the menu. Ray Ray’s has four locations in and around Columbus, so you have no excuse not to include it on your trip. Well, unless you’re a vegetarian, which is fair.
Triple D swung by as part of their Season 27 tour of the city, and the food did not disappoint. If you’re feeling hungry and bold, try the Meatsweats. It includes Smoked brisket, pulled pork, jerk chicken, dry rubbed ribs, and a Ray Ray’s hot link with pickles and sauce
Sweet Carrot — Triple D Season 27
Every once in awhile, Triple D ends up in a restaurant where it looks like Guy Fieri just has a lot of fun. Sweet Carrot definitely seemed to be one of those spots as it really came across like he enjoyed the food and the company of the off-the-wall owner and chef.
When you take a look at the menu, everything sounds amazing. Sweet Carrot seems like the kind of place where every choice is the right choice. Guy particularly enjoyed the Tasty Griddle Corn Cake, which gets the flavor jets going just reading about it online.
Ena’s Caribbean Kitchen — Triple D Season 28
A fun scene in this stop featured Fieri debating the pronunciation of Caribbean with the customers of the restaurant. The owner popped up part way through, and spit out a pronunciation of the word that was essentially a combination of the other two. Well played, indeed.
Ena’s Caribbean Kitchen came across as the spot to get legit Caribbean food made the right way. Classics like Jerk Chicken, Oxtail and Curry Goat all get the the appetite rolling, particularly if you start reading their menu around supper time.
Momo Ghar — Triple D Season 28
Going to Columbus, Ohio for Nepalese food seems like an odd choice. That’s certainly what Fieri seemed to think when Triple D stopped by the Saraga International Market in Season 28. Momo Ghar is actually inside the massive store, and has become a huge draw.
Not a lot of people have experience with Nepalese food, so Momo Ghar is a must stop in Columbus. Now with other locations in the city, it’s even easier to enjoy the delicious Momo dumplings that have made it famous.
