Will Disney bring back Epcot’s Eat to the Beat concert series in 2021?
By Brian Miller
Prior to the COVID outbreak, the Epcot Food and Wine Festival would also showcase the Eat to the Beat concert series, now, we don’t really know.
Life is slowly churning back to normal and what use to be mundane may seem like fun. Still, not everything is back to normal. Crowds at Disney continue to rise and cast members are being brought back into the fold at all of the parks. Yet some of the offerings have not.
Despite the pandemic, Disney was still able to get the Flower and Garden Festival up and running as well as the Festival of the Arts. While crowds were down for the events, the food was served and guests were thrilled but the live concerts were removed from the schedules.
During the Epcot: Food and Wine Festival, the Eat to the Beat concert series is one of the best ways to take in some older acts that can take you on a trip down memory road. They may not all be relevant like they were in their heyday but it is always good to take in food, wine, and music.
In 2019, the last ETTB concert lineup included Plain White T’s, TIffany of 80s fame, country band Sawyer Brown, and 80s pop sensation Sheena Easton. There was a huge list of acts that ran from late August to mid-November.
Right now, in 2021, there isn’t a single band listed and nothing is really being talked about. Logistics may be tough this year. Bands have to clear protocols from their own states, or countries, some states, and nations require a 14-day self-quarantine period upon return. That’s a lot to organize for a 3-day concert over a weekend.
Local Orlando bands took to the American Pavilion stage the last month or so during the festivals and it was nice to see music from the stage again but as good as local bands can be, nothing beats the music we grew up with from the artists that recorded them.
For now, we simply don’t know enough about what will happen as things in and around Orlando and in Florida are changing quickly but for now, it might be a little too much to hope for given the fact that the pandemic is still creating problems and travel issues.
