Epcot: The order of rides you should plan your day to
By Brian Miller
Say what you want but Frozen was a huge movie success for Disney and to this day, it remains a popular showcase for most of the Disney parks. At Epcot, they give you a ride.
Nestled into the back of the Norway Pavilion, Frozen Ever After replaced the original water log ride, Maelstrom, that was a feature of the pavilion years ago. The new reimagined ride opened in 2016. Honestly, this is a fun ride no matter if you are dragging kids along for the day or not.
Yes, at some point in time you really want to stop hearing “Let it go” ring in your head but the “dark” ride has twist and turns and even a dark waterfall plunge. The ride takes you by boat through Arendelle on the Official Summer Snow Day.
On the ride you will meet most of the characters including Queen Elsa and Olaf as well as the Snow Monster and a bunch of little baby snowmen. The colors are vivid and the ride is inside and cool.
Before you get on the ride, you will wait in the queue that can sometimes stretch out of the pavilion. Once inside you are waiting through parts of the town and at times in through the building.
Thrill factor: Some but again this is Disney so it is never truly “thrilling” on a ride, not yet.
Entertainment value: Even without kids it is a fun little journey but let us be realistic. Having a kid with you makes it so much better.
Wait time: Most of the time, 2 hours, is it worth it? If you have the time to kill.
Must ride: It is one of the top three at Epcot but it becomes a must ride if you have kids.
Fast Pass worthiness: You almost need to have a Fast Pass or hit the ride at rope drop. The World Showcase opens at 11:00 am.
Location: Norway Pavilion in World Showcase. Turn right at the Port of Entry and go past the Mexico Pavilion.
