Epcot: The order of rides you should plan your day to
By Brian Miller
If G-Force isn’t your thing, take a run on Test Track next door. The thrill ride takes you on a test track circuit of various scenarios that auto manufacturers subject their cars to.
The inside of the queue is air-conditioned, so that’s a big plus. You wind around metal stalls that take you through various automobile models and give you a feel like you are inside a futuristic autobody shop complete with sounds.
You also get to design your own “test” vehicle and as the ride itself progresses, your vehicle is rated for each part of the test circuit and is then compared to others in your car. It’s fun for kids and auto enthusiasts who think they can deliver a top product, even if only for fun.
The ride takes you through simulated hot and cold extremes, brake checking, control, aerodynamics, and then a 64.9 mph finale that whips you around an exterior ramp that banks you at an angle. The final speed is the fastest of any Disney ride.
Thrill factor: This is probably Epcots’ best “thrill ride” given the amount of motion and twists and turns it has.
Entertainment value: After being renovated year’s ago, the ride has gotten much better and it’s fun to ride.
Wait time: 90 minutes or more on most days.
Must ride: It’s a good ride and one of the top four in the park right now but if you miss it, you won’t kick yourself if you ever go back. It’s not one of those “I wish I would have rode it the last time I was here” ride.
Fast Pass worthiness: Yes, if you want to ride it, Fast Pass surely helps. They also, in the past, had a single rider lane too.
Location: Future World next to Mission: Space.
