The NFL schedule will officially be unveiled on May 12th and when it is, travel plans across the country will start being made, probably quickly.

After a year of empty stadiums and fans quarantined at home, this year should see a lot more travel than usual for fans of the NFL. Social media has been buzzing with fans planning road trips to follow their favorite teams around the country. Naturally, travel could still see some restrictions but with the league pushing forward through 2020 and states relaxing mask mandates and social distancing rules.

The NFL season and much of the sports world were exceptionally different than they normally are and fans suffered as much as every other traveler across the globe. The NFL schedule opens up the opportunity to start planning those weekend road trips and flights across the country.

As more and more states begin relaxing some of their quarantine rules and vaccinations continue to rise, travel will be important this summer for many and it will continue through the end of the year. People are tired of staying inside and even something as small as an outdoor sporting event will bring some much-needed relief.

Already the MLB is enjoying fans in their stands once again even if they are not yet at full capacity. The NFL will benefit from a scheduled release for a season that won’t start for another five months when more restrictions should be lifted.

It’s a small bit of good news at least for NFL fans who are excited to see when they may be doing some fall traveling.
