Edinburgh is not just one of the most vibrant cities in Scotland or even the UK. It’s one of the top destinations in all of Europe, and for good reason. This city is filled with an amazing range of attractions to engage any visitor. Plus, it has a hot food scene.

As a major center in the world, Edinburgh has found itself to be a source of some of the most interesting and innovative chefs around. And Easter Road has emerged as one of the top happening food neighborhoods in town.

The Percy

Edinburgh is a city of the world in that it attracts residents from all over to call it home. That inevitably becomes represented in the food at restaurants like The Percy, which is well known for offering up the unique flavors of Poland.

If you’re looking to get an unassuming but delicious dinner in an atmosphere that’s both lively and relaxed, then it’s The Percy for you. It’s a slice of Europe on Edinburgh’s Easter Road, and one that most visitors don’t expect to stumble across.

Edinburgh’s It’s All Good

Sometimes a name is so perfectly on the nose that it accurately sums up everything you need to know about the establishment. And in the case of Edinburgh’s It’s All Good, that has certainly proven to be the case as everything about it is, at the very least, good.

The coffee here is reputed to be some of the best in the neighborhood, as is the food. They have several inventive wraps that represent the various cultural influences in the city. Plus, this is a great place to go for breakfast.

The Black Fox

This is the classic Edinburgh pub with a bit of a twist. Naturally, The Black Fox’s drink menu is impressive, with a variety of draughts to choose from alongside whisky flights and various ingenious gin based concoctions.

But the star of the show at The Black Fox is the food. It has an amazing array of burger options, including beef burgers, chicken burgers and vegetarian burgers. They also have a really intriguing hot dogs on the menu, made with eight inch bratwursts.

Edinburgh’s La Casa

When you’re in Edinburgh, you’re naturally going to end up eating some superb pub food. But you will eventually want a different kind of action and that’s where La Casa comes in. It’s time to enjoy some excellent Mediterranean flavors.

It effortlessly combines the tapas and mezze concepts into one fabulous spot. Their menus are simple, but well executed and filled with amazing options to sate any appetite. This is the place you go to take a break from the usual food you find around town.

The Walnut

The Walnut is a celebrated restaurant in Edinburgh that has a very straightforward menu. It has option for two or three course menus with two or three options for each course. That seems pretty simple, which it is. Reputedly, the flavors are not.

Eating at The Walnut is an experience. Period. But it’s not one for everyone. They don’t allow children under five in this restaurant and they’re closed on Sundays and Mondays. If you’re interested in going, make sure you plan accordingly.
