Cleveland, Ohio will be the center of the football universe by the end of the month when the NFL Draft arrives. There are plenty of things for you to see.

If you are one of those who are planning to attend the draft this year in person, you may find yourself wondering what else there is to do, after all, the draft starts in the evening the first two days and all day on Saturday but you will have some downtime.

Depending on your schedule, there are plenty of things to do outside of the various NFL experiences that will also be going on around the draft venues. Here are five things you can do in Cleveland!

Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame: Legends live here! Cleveland is believed to be the place where a local DJ coined the term “Rock and Roll”. Today, you can visit the $65 million facility that is both a museum and Hall of Fame.

The HOF is located on the shores of Lake Erie near the Browns stadium downtown. It houses memorabilia and so much more and is a perfect getaway for those who dive into music.

Great Lakes Science Center: We are going to stay in the stadium/HOF area and visit the Great Lakes Science Center which is actually located between the stadium and HOF. It is a great place to take the family especially children where they can get hands-on with many different science and tech exhibits.

Cleveland Metro Parks Zoo: You will need to drive a short way out of downtown but not by much. The zoo is located just outside near I-71. The Zoo is one of the better zoos in the nation and is worth spending a day walking around the exhibits. There is also an aquarium located downtown nearer the previous mentions.

If you do go to the zoo don’t miss the gorilla exhibit. It’s a hike to the top of the hill but it is one of the better exhibits in park, if not the best overall.

The Flats: The Flats is located on the river just west of downtown. This is the Cleveland entertainment district where you will find live music and plenty of flowing alcohol if that is what you are looking for. Dancing and late nights are a given. If you tire of the draft or your team picks early, this is a great place to watch the rest of the draft unfold. However, there is no certainty with the current COVID restrictions so you should call one of the businesses to verify their hours of operations.
