Keep these in mind if you are a first time traveler to India
By Amit Shukla
India is a land of aesthetic country life and rich history. No matter if you are an Indian National or a traveler to the country, one can never confirm that they know everything or have visited every part of the country. Kashmir to Kanyakumari, and from the Eastern to the Western end of the Indian subcontinent rest assured that they didn’t see everything that the beautiful country offers to the world. There is an enchanting experience in the Jammu and Kashmir and the sounds of the shore in Kanyakumari. The soothing sound, lip-smacking food, and the culture of the country mesmerize you to the core. If you are looking for experience in the country, follow these norms:
Dress Accordingly
The first stance of this heading may worry you, but it only means that you follow religious beliefs. In most religious places across India, one needs to keep the shoes away, and one should always dress appropriately. When you visit a Gurdwara, you need to cover your head, and likewise, when you visit a Temple, Mosque, or Tomb, it is required to keep your shoes away unless not advised to do so. You can always dress for the occasion which means that you can keep your short dresses for the club and keep the other dresses on a trip because the weather may require you to dress so that you don’t pass out due to the changing weather conditions.
Medicine Comes Handy
Medicine ensures that you are safe while on your trip inside the country. The chances of you getting burned out due to the continuous travel is possible, but if you have medicines by you, then you can avoid any problem. These medicines are due to your health condition and overeating or eating something that is not allowed due to your health condition.
Carry Documentation
Your documents confirm who you are, and if you are in a different country, you must keep your documents safe because a small mistake can land you in a lot of diplomatic talks. It is imperative no matter which country of the world you travel to because documents are the first state that confirms who you are. India believes in ‘Athiti Devo Bhavah’ (Guest is God) policy, and the respect shown by the people in the country to its travelers is immense. While this is true in every sense of the word, your documents are your friend, so don’t make them your enemy.
Unconditional Travel
If you keep a specific frame of mind about a country, then you will always feel that way no matter where you go. India is home to various cultures and belief systems. You will continually look at things from a different perspective than reality if you go with the old beliefs or mindset. A change of thought will help you unravel the belief system and learn new things about the country that is a country of immense treasure and rich history.
It is, therefore, necessary that you look through the entire landscape with an open mind. Travel the roads less traveled and the places not known to travelers because that would make your travel a bit more worthwhile. As always, no matter where you travel worldwide, Stay Safe, Alert, and Cautious because safety is serenity.
