Take a romantic Valentines “River Walk” in San Antonio this year
By Brian Miller
Let’s be honest, it’s not easy to find places to go this year with all the closures and mask mandates and that is a killjoy for your Valentine plans. That’s why the San Antonio River Walk can be a great place to spend the evening.
Whether it’s a first date, first Valentine Day date, or your in your 50’s and it’s just nice to get away from the kids for a while, the River Walk is an incredibly romantic and fun experience. Even with a mask. Yes, we do encourage you to keep your social distancing no matter what you do but you can spread out a bit here.
The River Walk is exactly that, a river that flows through downtown and has shops, dining areas, and more built around it. You can even take a river cruise around the shopping district while you kick back and relax, but listen to the boat driver, the history about the locks is very interesting and how they are used is pretty smart.
Take a stroll along the edges of the river and then take in a theater show or simply sit back on at an outdoor restaurant and enjoy the time with your loved one or special person. San Antonio is an incredible city that was founded by Spaniards in 1691. It is the home of the San Fernando Cathedral that has operated since the late 1700s.
Of course, there is also the Alamo in San Antonio but we will talk more about that later this week.
Don’t forget to check out the historic Market Square and Rivercenter shopping. To put it clearly there is so much to do in downtown San Antonio’s River Walk you will be able to fill a perfect evening out with whomever you choose but remember, it doesn’t have to just be for Valentine’s Day. San Antonio is a historic Texas city that should not be missed.
San Antonio just might be one of the best destinations that lie “Deep in the Heart of Texas” and if you prefer, the kids will love it too because, in the end, the family is what is important.
