If there is one thing that has been missing from Walt Disney’s Magic Kingdom, it’s been the water. There is nothing more disheartening than to visit the park and see a dried mud bed where the Rivers of America was supposed to be. Now, it’s refilling.

Refurbishments have to happen every so often and so do new construction and maintenance. The problem is that sometimes, those needs take away some of the magic, especially at parks like the Magic Kingdom.

We have been enduring construction at both Magic Kingdom and Epcot for quite a while now. Epcot has been a myriad of wooden mazes that block your view of certain construction zones. Magic Kingdom has done well enough tarping over some of Cinderella Castle’s exterior improvements but you can block off the river.

According to AllEars.net, the river is starting to fill and two attractions, Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island could be open as early as February 5th. AllEars.net is citing the daily planning guide on the MyDisney app and website. According to the site, the two attractions are closed for refurbishment on the 4th but not the 5th and the hours of operation for the riverboat are listed as 9:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

This is great news but more importantly, it means that the river and hopefully the moat around the castle will once again be filled. Pictures of the castle can turn out fantastic but the angles were a little harder to get when you were trying to avoid the drained water around it.
