Boone, North Carolina sits amid the western edge of NC and Tennessee.
Boone is located on the western side of the state and North of Charlotte. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Boone is a quaint town that offers a large variety of natural adventures.
Hiking is popular in the region and there are amazing waterfalls to take a trek to. Cabins in the mountains can be rented for a couple of days or a week. Learn about Daniel Boone and the American Revolution at the Horn in the West drama theater, take a hike up Grandfather Mountain, and walk the Mile High swinging bridge.
Blowing Rock is a popular destination for travelers and nature lovers where updraft winds create harmonic sounds and some of the best views in western N.C.
It’s not all about the mountains. Some incredible wine tastings can be had across the region and a wine-tasting trail exists.
Tweetsie Railroad is a great place to take the kids. Home to a lifesize Thomas the Train offering once a year, Tweetsie is home to a theme park tailored to the Wild West and country living that Boone is famous for. The rides are akin to carnival-type rides and of course, there are trains. It’s a great place for both the young and the old.
